Old Park Rally

Speaking on behalf of Belfast Metal Health Rights Group and the PPR Project, Stephanie Green explained that BMHRG’S work was about action to get change. BMHRG was campaigning to improve people’s experience of using Accident and Emergency when they are in mental health crisis – just one small but important part of suicide prevention. People at the rally were called upon to take part in this action by giving their experiences of A&E to BMHRG to see if services were getting better. She expressed support for the rally’s call that suicide prevention is everybody’s business but reminded people that it was the government’s business by law. Under international human law the government must be improving healthcare – the status quo is not good enough. To view a video of the rally click here.

To date there has been a very good response to this with 9 people contacting BMHRG to offer help with the surveys. If you would like to help with the surveys please contact Stephanie Green on 02890 313315 or email stephanie@pprproject.org.
