In a keynote address to an audience of mental health rights campaigners, the world's leading spokesperson for the right to health warned that policy makers around the world have become too reliant on the medical profession to treat mental ill health.

Professor Dainius Púras - the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health - was speaking at PPR's Mental Health Congress, which took place in the Spectrum Centre on the Shankill Road in Belfast on 10 October 2019.

On Monday 16th September 2019 a group of hostel residents and local councillors launched “Housing Rights Watch” – an app that will allow them to directly apply to the Housing Executive Chief Executive for official homeless status utilising the formal complaints process.

In the lead up to our Mental Health Congress on 10 October please read this article by clinical psychologist Dave Rogers, in which he talks about the relationship between equality and good mental health.

Build Homes Now Mural Launch

On Wednesday 18 September 2019 the Lord Mayor of Belfast, John Finnucane, unveiled a mural created by homeless families on the city's famous Internation Wall.

The mural is one of a number in Belfast created by the campaign group to raise awareness of 15,000 children who are officially homeless and drawing attention to the group's key demands to help solve the housing crisis.
