Housing & Homeless campaigners call on City Councillors to reject flawed plan and back alternative vision capable of reducing housing need by 14%

As Belfast City Councillors prepare to vote on the future of the controversial Hillview site in north Belfast today (Tuesday 15th August 2017), a campaigning group of homeless families is calling on councillors to reject a planning application that seeks to exclude all social housing from the site.

The application currently before councillors completely excludes housing and undermines existing local small business, retail and employment in the surrounding areas. The application breaches numerous policies and the overriding responsibility to ensure that equality is promoted in all of Council’s duties.
